Mr Ballantce stated that of tp £50fi00; voted for school buildings " m N ew £10,000 would he allocated to the Wellington Provincial District, which would be equally divided between the Wellington and W.anganiii B»ards, each receiving £5000, which amount would be i irrespfictiv.e of the already advanced b.y GoYern,ment, and would also be exclusire of the cost of school sites. He further intimated that the capitation allowance wonld be increased from £3 15s to £4. 5s per obild, and the 10s for school repairs would be paid over to each Board, and not to eacn local com- , inittee.y The Wellington Board would receive one-fourth of the £600 X) voted m aid of normal schools, and the Ini apeptop's travelling expenses would also b/e pAict/by Government. Mr- Bailance : I will see what is to be done about the matter.My. disposition is to hand an acre over to the Board fois school purposes. The Hon. Mr Gisbprne *. The chairman said he would report at next meeting concerning the allocation of reserves: abon,t. which he had conferred with the Commissioner of Crown Lands.. The Board then adjourned until the 2^th instant..
