Wangantti, January 17. Mr Freeman R. Jackson reports : — At the Yards, to-day, the attendance was large, and all the pens were well filled. Competi- ■ tion was very brisk, prices being in favour of the sellers, with the exception of sheep whioh .were of lower values. I have inquiries for sheep and store cattle. Cattle. — 114 head came forward. Fat bullocks made from £7 17s 6d to £9 ; store cows, £ 5 10s j milch cows, £6 12s 6d to £8 12s 6d j cow's and calves, £7 10s ; Mr J. Cameron's heifers, £9 to £10 7s 6d. Sheep. — 2,319 were penned. Wethers, medium quality, 8s 9d ; ewes, 6s 9d to 7s 6d ;. lambs low in condition, 3s 6d to 4s 9d. Rams. — Mr Baker's rams made from £1 2s 6d to £12 ss. Horses.— A large number were offered. Hacks made from £6 to £10 58; light draught, up to £15 j heavy draught up to £35. Exports,-— 42 head cattle, 900 sheep, Dttnedin, January, 17. Wright and Stevenson report- for the week ;t— Grain, very little alteration to, report ; wheat continues dull of sale ; oats, good demand at from 3s 4d to 3s 5d for feed — up to 3s 6d for prime milling ; barley continues dull, except for prime milling, which is wanted, but little offering. Christchubob, January 17. The hurricane of Tuesday night did considerable damage to. ripe craps in rural districts. . : Grain and produce transactions are quiet. Wheat is nominally quoted at 5s to 5s 6d. The first early deliveries of new crop* of wheat are expected to command from 4s 6d to 5s at the hands of millers. Oats meet with a fair local demand, at 3s (5d for old ; the new crop will probably start at 2s 9d to 3& for the very first lots. Barley, no transactions. Flour and other produce remain unaltered. The harvest is expected to be a fair average one. Auckland, January 18. Buckland reports: — Fat cattle. 26s for medium, 30s for best j. fat. aheep, plentiful — ewes and wetherß, 2d to 3d j lambs, full supply, (good), no demand, 9s to lla.
