CORRESPONDENCE.
[Our correspondence column being open, no responsibility can be accepted m respect to opinions expressed by correspondents.] I ,TO THB EPITQE. ■ Su> — T notice m your last issue that a, meeting of ratepayers has been called by his Worship at 3 p.m. on the 18th inst. The business is to talk over this little loan of £10,000 for Borough improvements.- The matter of the loan I am not going to deal" with m this letter, but I— as a working man a.nd ratepayer — think that his Worship would i'ave been consulting the interests of the majority of the ratepayers, who are working men* if he had called the meeting at 7 p.m. instead of 3, p.m.-* ' more especially as that hour seems tobe the most suitable for the Councillors themselves to assemble for their deliberations, financially and otherwise. This loan really interests every man m rfhe town, and it would have heen only Lfair to suit the convenience of all by meeting at a more reasonable hour. — I am* Ac,, Working Man. January 14th, 1878.
