Thursday. Affairs are alarming owing to the dismissal of such nnrnbers of classified and unclassified officials. The wildest excitement prevails. The Civil Service is. disorganised, none knowing who goes next. Police magistrates receive forty thousand as compensation. The Governor preserves neutrality, and supports the Government so long as they act within the law. Licenses cannot be granted owing to absence of police magistrates. It has been agreed to invite tenders for fifty cases of torpedoes. Jervo|s leaves for England m February m me ship Amsterdam.
