KEGISTKATfON. If tlioy prefer being married by the Registrar, instead of a clergyman or minister, Ins fee is 20s, Deaths.— The ßegistrar of the district must be informed of the event within 31 days, He will then issue a certificate of the. same without fee. Any person burying without a certificate is liable %o a fine of £10. Registration of Electors.— Persons claiming to be placed upon the Electoral Roll must send m their claims to the Registration Officer oE the dislricfc, between Ist January and 31st of March m each year. jSo claims can be received by the Registration Officer after the 31st March. Registration of Title Deeds.— In all cases where parties 'are purchasing, or agreeing for the purchasing or leasing of land, it is important they should first search at the Deeds Office for mortgages, or other incumbrances which may affect the property ; for each search a fee of one shilling is charged. Registration of Dogs.— All dogs three months old or upwards, are required to be registered during the month of January m each year. Registration fee, ss.' The owner has to provide a collar, with the owner's name thereon, to bo worn by the dog so registered. The penalty for non-registration is not less than 20s, nor more than £5> and is recoverable m a summary manner. Occupiers of farms of not less than forty acres, situated m rural or suburban districts, are allowed to keep one sheep or caitle dog, on the payment of a fee of Is ; provided the dog be not a setter, pointer, retriever, or other sporting dog, payment for each of which is ss. ; VACCINATION.. ; It is made compulsory upon every parent to take his cjiild, • within six months of its birth, to the Medical Officer appointed by the Government for the district; op" to some qualified Medical Practitioner, to have the child •vaccinated, and on the eighth day'following to take the child back again for inspection. For breach of this law a fine not exceeding .40s may be recovered before any Bcnd'i^Sf Magistrates. The word *' parent " means father, mother, or other person having' the care, nurture, or custody of the child, POSTAL. ■ Post Cards are now issued at the Post, Office, aud sold m packets of six cards for 6d. The stamped side of the card is for the address only. On the reverse side, any communication, whether of the nature of a letter- or otherwise, may be printed or written. English postage stamps may he obtained by persons desirous of sending a stamp or stamped envelope to their relatives or friends m the United Kingdom, m order- to relieve . theni, of the edst of the postage when sending replies. These stamps cannot be purchased m quantities, nor are- they permitted to be used for the purpo.se of making remittances. Registration — By the prepayment of a fee of sixpence i,n addition to the full postage, any letter, newspaper, b.ook, or other packet, may be registered to any place m the Colony, Australia, the United Kingdom, and certain Foreign countries. Unclaimed Letters. —On the first day of each month a list is exhibited at each Post Office m the Colony of the addi-esses of all letters received from places beyond the Colony that have remained unclaimed for throe months at such Post Office, The fa 1 postage stamp must not be affixed to letters.
