PUKETOTARO SPORTS.

The following report of Races and Sports held on the 28th December last at; Puketotaro has been handed to us for publication :— Httbdlb Race. — -Robinson's Banjo, Ist ; Lorton's Feather, 2nd. Pukbtotabo Stakes.— Petre'a Te Whirimai, Ist ; H. Larkins' Tiriou, 2nd. PKODtrcB Stakes.— J. Cribb's Maori Boy, Ist; T. Cribb's Right Bower, 2nd. Hack Raob. — Twelve horses started; Maori Boy, Ist. POinr Raob.— Reiora, Ist ; Peninuta, 2nd. Hack Race.— Heta, Ist ; Dandriff, 2nd. Oowso-Ation.— Dandriff, Ist; J. Cribb's gelding, 2nd. Several more hack races came off, which were well contested, and gave great satisfaction to the Maories m particular, SPORTS. Wbbstung Match.— F. Abel, winner. Another match was got up between Abel and McG-uinness, which was easily won by the former. Puttiho Hbavt Stokb.— rPpterson, Ist ; McG-inness, 2nd. Foot Race, 200 yabds.— McQ-uinness, Ist j.Brandon, 2ndA Maobi Woman Raob.— This was a most interesting. event, ano} created great merriment. The race was won by Solomon's, wife. Running High Jump.— Won by-McFee. - - XRmfaahom Jump.— MoFee, Ist ; Napier j 2nd. A war dance terminated the sports for the day. The whole affair was a success, and great credit is due to Mr W. Simpson for the able manner m which he conducted the proceedings. About 400 persons were present who thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the only drawback being the frequent showers m the morning, which .prevented friends from Fox.ton paying their promised visit.
