The decision of the Bench was deferred. At a meeting, of tfie Standard Insurance Company this afternoon, the articles of association were amended. The result will be that all the profits m future will go to the shareholders, instead of part to the insurers, as hitherto. The chairman stated that the halfyear, ending m March next, promised , to be a very successful one. The total revenue collected at the Custom-house, Dunediri, for the year 1877 was £362,202. The amount m 1876 was £351,099. During the past twelve months the number of births, deaths, and marriages registered m Dunedin .were respec tively— l7so, 588, 395. ' - Wednesday.
