Friday. - To-night's " Post " circulates a rumour ; to the effect that', the; recommended; Bunny be appointed Commissioner of Annuities, to which "His Excellency offered no objection, butr as i it.was found that it would be almost necessary that the Commissioner should be a Justice of the Peace, the GroVernor was recommended to make that appointment, so that it be Gazetted to-day. His Excellency, while willing to make the first appointment, declined to make ihe other. ]M?tfu& points the < ( Post" says, a scene" ensued, and Grey left Government House m high dudgeon. Instructions have been issued by Government to withhold for the present all increases of salaries voted this year to members of the Civil Service^ ; Ballance denies he has deserted the Gfrefpar^r. .
