The "Argus " says :— " Judging from the present, price of vegetables, we should say the best 'spec' m or near Wellington is the establishment of a large Market Garden Company. When cauliflowers realize half-a-crown each, and asparagus is three halfpence a stick, a good vegetable garden should soon realise a competency for the proprietor. It may astonish some of our housewives to learn that the bulk of the vegetables m the Wellington market actually come from Nelson." 'Latterly- Palmefston has been • somewhat; overdone m; vegetables much, to the discouragement of many of our thrifty settlers, -who, m consequence, receive scant remuneration for their labor. Possibly a hint may be gathered from the above that will lead to a remunerative export trade m vegetables.
