NO-CONFipBNOB HOTION. .*,C>n the House proceeding to the orders of the day, the question arose as to whether the following motion by Major Atkinson couldbe considered :— That all the' orders of the day and notice of motion be postponed until the House has disposed of the notice of motion, — That this House has now no confidence m the present G-overnment. — A". long discussion ensued, m which Messrs Stout, Bees, ; Trayers, Barff, -Eeynolds, Whitaker, Sheehan, and Lusk took part. Ultimately the Speaker intimated that as. the question' was an important one he would take till half -past seven to consider At;— The Souse rose at ten minutes past, five." After reviewing the matter at length, as .well as the arguments^ pro. and jon adduced by hon. members, the Speaker decided that the motion of Major Atkinson jould not- -be put m consequence of a Bill' m committee, and he was therefore compelled to leave the chair without the question being put.
