Me. James Linton, who has 1 been so long connected with the Manawatu Highways Board, has now accepted a position ori the staff of this paper. He will not only act as collector and canvasser for the paper, but, what is of_ more value, to the public, he will fee a freepient visitor to the different towns throughoiit the vM^aw-aiin--I}ißixici' : 'f6r.

In the interests of such." important places as Foxton, Feilding, and Sandon, as well as of the lesser townships, we have, long felt the want of a competent travelling assistant to make us more perfectly acquainted with the growing requirements of these towns, as these requirements severally arise, so that they may he adequately set forth m our columns. We do not know anyone more fit to supply this desideratum than the gentleman named, and we doubt not the public will be as pleased to learn as We are^tp^announce his connection with the pai>eV. Before dismissing matters journalistic^ we may state that for some time it has been our intention to enlarge the "Manawatu Times" to, doubTe-demy size.
