Monday The Hebrew congregation are preparing to protest against the . religious elatisfes of the Education Bill, asking for purely secular teaching, The Chamber of Commerce* passed resolutions supporting the Wellington . Chamber's recommendation \that a* lawbe enacted to stop absconding debtors by telegraph when the creditor -lodges sufficient security with the authorities as 5 guar«Mee of Iqna Jides. The Chamber also forwarded the opinion of, Mr Hesketh, solicitor, embodyibg recommendations, and showing that there is absolutely no legal means of stopping a debtor, even when it is known he is going away. • The Roman Catholic petition, asking, that the religious clauses oe' struck but ox tad Education Bill, received over 2,000 signatures.
