Tuesday^ A fire occurred ii> .George Street last' night, which resulted m the destruction of 3 small shops. Insurance offices are" interested to the extent of £700 ; Glofce* £300, Standard, £300; Victorian, £100. Otago Railway Employees Benefit Society hare passed a resolution agreeing to amalgamation^with' the Christchurc£ Benefit Society and such other Railway Benefit Societies as exist m the Colony, on condition that the Otago Society's . rules be iadopted, and ; that the head office be permanently held in -Bunedin.
