TO THE EDITOB. Sir,- — I would like to calLyour atten* tion to'Taonui Street. I am sure I don't know what the Commissioners were about when, they called 'for tenders' for forming this street just at the beginning of our winter* Kit was to annoy tile
inhabitants of the street, I should say they have succeeded remarkably well, as they have made it worse than it was before they touched it. Before we had a little green turf to walk upon, and could pick our way along, but now we have nothing but one mass of ploughed mud and mire to walk through, not to mention two or three lagoons. If there is much more rain we shall want a punt to get to our houses, or we may hear of some child being drowned. If there were not sufficient funds to complete the street it ought not to have been touched: at all, as things should never be done by halves. — lam, &c. . .' i.- -f .... , EPERiLTUS.
