June 15., Thomas Daly, a fireman on board the Hinemoa, was found drownedon Te Aro beach this morning. He was last seen alive at ten o'clock somewhat, under the influence of liquor.^ June 16. - Captain Bonner, of the steamer Tui, had his certificate suspended for six months and was ordered to pay costs. ' The charge of drunkenness was not proved, but gross misconduct in.taking the Manawatu bar when signalled not.to do so, and for steaming round the Napier and thus causing the collision. ' Tuesday. Slowman's claim was twenty thousand.
