May 25. The inquest on Margaret Mclntyre ■was resumed to-day. - Dr Bakewell stated deatb. to have resulted — firstly, from long and continued want of proper food ; secondly, from injuries received a few days before death"; thirdly, from congestion of the lungs and inflammation qfJke bowels ; and fourthly,, from alcohoXLhaving been administered twenty-oour hours before death. Had medical assistance been called m sufficient time before, the girl might have been saved. There are still ten witnesses to examine. ■ ' Tuesday. At the Coroner's inquest on the body of Margaret Mclntyre,. the Jury, after several days examination of witnesses, returned a verdict of manslaughter against Mrs Reid, her late mistress. Later. Mrs Reid was committed for trial this morning on the Coroner's warrant, but was "admitted to bail on her own recognisances for £500, and two sureties for £250 each. - A young woman of respectable appearances, named Mary Carr, was committed for trial this morning for stealing a large quantity of jewellery.
