PRESBYTERY OF WELLINGTON.
(From the "Waiiganui Chronicle.") session of; tMs ecclesiastical court of thePresbyteriafi^iCliurcli was held- at' St. Paul's Wangariuiy on the 21st inst., at It a.m. There were present the Rev Messrs Doull ( who presided, in^the absence of the Moderator, the Rev' c Mr Ogg, of Wellington); Paterson, Boss, Treadwell;, arid Elder Strachan. ; The Mr Ross, on behalf of a committee appointed at the last meeting* [of the Presbytery to visit the Feilding, Palmerstori, and Sandon districts, reported that he had, m conjunction with his ministerial brethrerij- visited the ; centres, conducted religious services, and taken, such steps as seemed necessary m the way of church organisation; ' and that the special objects committed I to them had, hethought, been thoroughly | secured, the three districts heartily agreeing to do what was required of them towards the support of the present lab--:ourer m the field. ' : ' : . : ; The report was approved of, and the Committee thanked for their .services. ' It resplyed'that application be made- to the General Assembly Church Extension Committee ; for a continuance of the grant hitherto allowed to the labourer in -the Feilding district, intimating the amount promised by %he three districts, and. also that it would be supplemented: by the Presbytery to the extent of £50. The iiext' business .consisted of, the examination of Mr McGregor, a candidate for the Ministry, under instruction by the Presbytery. - r 'The candidate was exercised m Greek and Latin by the Rev. Mr Treadwell, and m theology by tlie Rev;. "Mr Paterson ; m addition to which he. read papers Von certain prescribed subjects. The Presbytery expressed their satisfaction with the im"provementmade by Mr McGregor m the studieshe is 'so earnestly pursuing. Thereafter, a committee was appointed consisting of tjie Eev: Messrs Treadwell" (Convener), Ross, Doull, Ogg, and Paterson, to draft a curriculum of studies for students for the Ministry under education by the presbytery, to arrange for theological tuition, and, the appointment of a Board of Examination ; committee ix> report ai next meeting of PresbyteryV to: be held m August next, m the WairaTapa. Mr Ross and the mover were ; appointed a committee to confer with their brother Ministers, and to systematize arrangements for evangelistic . work throughout the bounds of the Presbytery during next summer. ;. It lwas, resolved, that the session records and; colnmuriipri rolls of every congregation -jfithin the'ibourids be submitted for examination- annually.
