Wednesday. Meetings re drainage scheme m the' suburbs all endorsed the action of the Christchurch meeting m condemning Mr Carruther's scheme. V The meteor referred to 3fctelegrams from Auckland was seen in^jf^telton. Constable Bulles states that about I*3o' a.m. on Thursday, he saw an immense meteor pass along the sky, appearing to remain stationary m mid-heavens for several seconds, then to pass southward. He reports that it was of a bluish color and of great brilliancy, illuminating the whole sky, which was then quite starless.
