MANCHESTER HIGHWAY BOARD.
A Meeting of the Manchester Highways Board was held at the E. and C Aid Corporation Office, Feilding, on Saturday, the 12th May, 1877. MEMBERS PBESENT. Messrs. A. F_. Halcombe (chairman), Macarthur, Bailey, and Linton. MINUTES. Tlf^B^urates of tlie previous meeting were mra. and confirmed. SUBSIDY. ■ The Chairman reported the Government, having paid a subsidy of £377 10s to the Board. • A report from the Inspector of Nuisances, and the action taken by the Chairman on the report^ was submitted to the Board: . - . COBBESPONDENCE. A letter from the Chairman of the County Council, was read, acknowledging receipt of a copy of the valuation list for the Manchester Highways District. . . ACCOUNTS PASSED. « Roadman, No. 1 Ward, £7 10; Mr. Foster's clerical account, £5 6s 3d; Mr Bilderbaekj Manchester street bridge, £78 10s; Mr Lash, £3 6s ; " Clerk's salary* £7 10s ; G. Lyne's account^. £7 4s. Passed subject \to the Engineer's certificate. Resolved, — That the Clerk be instructed to insert a notice m the local, newspaper, of the 'intention of the Board, to make a rate of one shilling m the pound sterling, on the annual value of all rateable property m the Manchester Highways District,' for the period from the Ist of April, 1877, to the 31st of March, 1878, the same to become payable on the Ist of June;---1877; at the office of the Board, m Manchester street, Feilding, and also, to notify that the Rate-book is open for' inspection to all ratepayers at the office of the Board, at Feilding,; asj- provided by the Rating. Act/ 1877. Resolved,— That the Engineer, be instructed, to prepare specifications for clearing 60 chains on the Bunnythorpe road. /. Resolved,— That the Board, will hold its next meeting at 2 o'clock p.m., on Thursday, the 31st May, 1877,- . -: _
