Champagne Stakes. — Trump Card, 1 ; Jangles. 2 ; Tell Tale, 3. ,Won by a short head. Time, Imm 22 sees. Great Autumn Handicap. — Bribery, 1 ; Pungawerewere, 2 ; Guy Fawkes, 3. Time, 2 mm. 45| sees. •: The Majror has been petitioned to call a public meeting to consid.er the advisability of adopting a scheme of
drainage prepared by the Local Engineer, m preference to the^one prepared by Mr Carruthers. '
