Tjl E. METARD Begs to announce to the inhabitants of Palmerston, that he has just received a large stock of — Books, Stationery, Fancy goods, Tobaccos, And cigars. He would draw especial attention to his well-selected stock of Stationery as supplying a want long felt m thi3 township and district. The stock of Books has been carefully selected, and will furnish reading, both grave and gay, for the million. The Tobaccos are of the best, brands, as a trial of them will prove ; and the lovers of a good weed wiil find no difficulty m suiting their tastes at his establishment. NOTICE. In the matter of "'The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876." A PETITION will shortly be presented to his Excellency the Governor praying that a portion of the Township of Palmerston, m thr County of Manawatu, be constituted a Borough uuder the Provisions of the said Act.
