WELLINGTON.
Friday. Recent private advices from Australia state that Adelaide will not export this year more than seventy thousand tons of Breadstuff, as against two hundred thousand tons last year ; and that Sydney will this year be a large importer of grain as a consequence of the severe drought. Mrs Scott Siddens made her first appearance last night. The house was crammed m all parts, it was the largest, attendance seen since the Opera Company performance. Romeo and Juliet was the piece, and met with a fine reception and enthusiastic applause throughout. The "Times " says that Captain Campbell Walker's time of engagement as Conservator of State Forests, expires with the termination of the present month. It says nothing will be done m the way of organising a department uutil his report has been laid before Parliament. Captain Campbell Walker leaves the colony on a visit to Australia and Tasmania next week.
