Friday. A return received from the Agent-G-eneral by the last mail, shows that the following immigrants were sent to New Zealand, from June to December, 1876 :— To Otago, 1353 ; Canterbury, 1340; Wellington, 736; Westland, 227 ; Taranaki, 114 ; Nelson, 104 ; Marlborough, 96; Auckland, 650; Hawke's Bay, 554, statute adults. Otago, Canterbury, Wellington, Westland, Taranaki, and Nelson having an aggregate of 173 more, and Auckland, Hawke's Bay, and Marlborough, one hundred fewer than were ordered. Total m excess for the whole colony, 73. J
