o Waveklet, February 22. Messrs Ashforth and Liffiton report a capital attendance of buyers, although prices ruled slightly lower. Every hoof yarded was sold. They quote cattle — Well-grown 2-year-old steers, m fair condition, £5 2s 6d ; well-bred heifers, 12 and 18 months, £3 2s 6d ; steers, 15 to 18 months, £3 5s ; cows, m low condition, £4 2s 6d. Sheep — Mixed, 5s Gd ; culls, ss ; shorn lambs, 5s ; large frame fat wethers, 9s 6d. Horses dull of sale. Auckland, February 23. BucMand reports this day — Horse stock plentiful and m fair enquiry. Medium draughts, £13 to £26 ; hides, 3Vd to Ud ; lambskins, Is lid to 2s 7cl ; pelts, 4d to 7d ; sheepskins, 2s Id to 2s 7d , lambs' wool, 10d to ll£d ; hocks and pieces, 4d per lb. Fat cattle, 23s to 28s ; fat sheep, 2£d ; Adelaide flour, £18; Dunedin, £17; bran, 5s lOd ; pollard, 6s lOd ; oatmeal, £15 ; pearl barley, £22 ; oats, 2s 9d to 3s ; maize, 5s ; potatoes, £4 ; butter, Is ; cheese, 9d ; hams and bacon, m cloth, lOd. Nolan quotes hacks from £5 to £18 7s 6d. Dunedin, February 23. Quotations remain unaltered m the share market, but a little has been done m the grain market during the past week. Good samples of new crop are wanted, and will command high prices. Oats are m request, and the mai'ket is bare of stocks ; prices, 2s 3d to 2s 9d. Barley, of prime quality, inquired for ; none offering ; feeding and milling saleable at from 2s 9d to 3s. Chkistchubch, Feb. 23. The favorable weather is enabling farmei's to get everything secured against the return of rain. Transactions are small. Wheat is offering at 2s 6d to 5s ; the latter price for extra superfine, free from sprouted grains. Oats, Is lOd to 2s ; barley, 3s to 4s ; flour, good quality, £15. Forward sales of new have been made at very low l'ates. Butter, Is ; cheese, 6d. The markets are very unsettled. Sydney, Feb. 23. New Zealand oats firm at 3s 6d ; Adelaide flour, £15 to £16 10s. Holders of wheat ask 7s. Sales at 6s lid ; Calif ornian is held at 6s 6d ; Launceston sold, to arrive, at 6s 4d and 6s 6d. London, Feburary 23. The wool mai'ket has assumed a firmer tone. Present sales close about 28th March. Next sales will open m the middle of May. The wheat market has improved ; New Zealand, 53s to 555. 100 bales New Zealand hemp sold at £23.
