GREYMOUTH.
Tuesday. The cricket match — the English Eleven v. Twenty-two of Westland commenced to-day. The ground was m fine condition. Gray won the toss and sent the Englishmen to the wickets, Jupp and Charlwood being the first to wield the willow to the bowling of Perkins and .M'Gregor. The fielding was excellent, and runs were made slowly. The following scores had been made when the adjournment for lunch took place at two o'clock :— Jupp, c M'Gregor, 4 ; Charlwood, c and b M'Gregor, 13 ; Ullyett, b M'Gregor, 17 ; Greenwood, not out, 9 ; Selby, not out: Total, 40 — with three wickets down.
