The Waimate County Council have decided to adopt the whole of the Counties Act, and have declared the Waimate Road Board dissolved; The All England Cricket match is to be played here on the 26th, 27th, and 28th February. The weather is now fine. . Tuesday. . James J. Pain, clerk to the Waimate Boad Board, was arrested for the embezzlement of £988 belonging to the Board., v. The Mayor .has declared a half holiday for each day of the All England cricket match. A meeting will be held of residents mthe ; city and suburbs on Thursday .'•night, to protest, against Mr Garruthers' drainage scheme. ' .-.'■ Weather very fine for harvesting.
