A German communique states that the enemy attacked towns in Western Germany.. Fires caused severe damage to dwellings. Others flew over Northern Germany and were prevented from reaching Berlin l>y anti-aircraft guns. Several incendiary and explosive bombs were dropped oil brickworks east of Berlin.
Another official German statement admits 'that the R.A.F. damaged military in addition to civil objectives in Berlin. The R.A.F.’s nightly onslaught on the invasion ports again shook the English coast. It is believed Boulogne harbour and the big gun emplacements near Cape Gris Nez were selected for the most violent bombardment.
