PARADE IN SYDNEY

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 3. About 6500 A.I.F. troops ancl 106 Air Force men will marcli through the city to-morrow when the “Australia Day” appeal for the Lord Mayor s Fund will be held. . , An official request to the citizens not to give beer or other gifts to the members of the AII.F. has been issu by Eastern Command Headquarters. Officers declined to say whether people who gave beer to the troops would be prosecuted and fined,, as happene on a similar occasion in New Zealand. It is learned, however that no instructions for such action have been gi in the Eastern Command.
