DEMANDS ON SYRIA.
AXIS PRESSURE INCREASES
LONDON, Oct. 1. It is reported from Cairo that iresh and far-reaching demands have been made on the. French authorities in connection with Syria. These are aimed to give Italy and Germany a firmer grip of Syria, and include authority for German propagandists to return to Syria and Lebanon, authority for, the Italians to publish a newspaper in Beirut, and the publication of German and Italian communiques m the Syrian Press.
