Madame Greta- Ostava. who was a visitor to Feilding yesterday lor the British Music Society concert, is a refugee from Czechoslovakia. Her escape from the Gestapo was a triumph. She stood to lose her musical instruments, which she highly valued, hut fortunately she was,able to save one ’cello valued at £3OO. The other- four instruments were confiscated. Her parents still remain in the country of her birth, but she lias not heard from them since she lias been in New Zealand, a matter of three months. Madame Ostava has played in all countries on the Continent and states that she is happy to bo in “beautiful New. Zealand.” She feels confident that her country will get out of the grips of Nazi Germany. ' -
