SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
At the monthly meeting of the Alanawatu Scottish Society Chief J. S. Jenkinson presided. Pipe-Alajor V. J. Nicholson reported on the activities of the" society’s hand, which with the assistance of several of the younger members continues to function in its usual manner. It was resolved to forward Christmas parcels to the band members now on active, service. Tho ingleside committee reported that the fortnightly gatherings were still being well supported and the same high standard of entertainment was being provided to patrons. It was felt that the success of these functions, extending over a number of years, reflected great credit on the committee members responsible for the administration. The last ingleside ivas attended by the Pipe Band, which played a selection and an extra waltz. Pipe-Alajor Nicholson, on behalf of the society, presented Piper lan Jenkinson, who has, for some time officiated as M.C. at the gatherings, with a small token of esteem from members prior to his entering a military camp. AVinners of the Alonte Carlo were Air and Mrs S. R. Greatorex, and in the lucky Gay Gordons Mrs Price and Air B. Baird were successful. The new AI.C. (Air Sinclair) was introduced to the gathering.
