FLIER’S DECORATION.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. According to particulars released by the Director of Publicity, Pilot-Officer Denton, who has been awarded the D.F.C., is 23 years of age. Born at Greymout.li, he was educated at the Groymouth Technical High School and was prominent in many sporting activities. He entered the Public Works Department after leaving school. He became a member of the Groymouth Aero Club, later joining the Civil Reserve of Pilots, being selected for a short-service commission in 1939. Pilot-Officer Denton received his preliminary training in the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigram and left for Britain to join the R.A.F. at the end of 1939. His father, Mr F. H. Denton, is well-known as the town clerk of Greymouth.
