Pressure is high over Tasmania and is rising rapidly in southern New Zealand. The forecast is for. a change to moderate to fresh southerly to south-east-erly winds. The weather will he dull and unsettled, with fairly general drizzle or rain. Temperatures cold. Seas rough. RAINFALL AT WEST END. - The rainfall on September, 1940, as reat the West End is as follows: — September 1 .01 inches, 4 .10, 5 .05, 6 .02, 7 .17. 8 .18, 10 .29, 11 .14. 16 .14, 18 .05, 22 .02, 24 . 01, 25 .02, 26 ,C 9, 27 .22, 23 .15, 29 .06, 50 .01; total 1.72 in.
