SMALL FIRE LOSS.

The, annual report of the Feilding Fire Board states that the loss by fire on insured buildings in the borough amounted to £63 2s 6d and the loss on insured contents was £3 19s; the amount is negligible when it is considered that the total insurance cover of the buildings and contents involved amounted to £5850. Some years ago the loss by fire amounted to only £l4, while in one year the loss was nil. Buildings in' which fires occurred during the year ended March 31, 1940, are valued at £6600 and the contents at £2900. The board attributes the low lire loss to the services of the superintendent (Mr 0. Sporle) and members of the brigade, aund care on the part of jrroperty owners.
