CADET DIVISION

After inspecting the cadets of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at their recent weekly 'parade, the ambulance officer (Mr Ayson) informed the boy 9 of the annual inspection. At this parade, which is to be attended by all the local divisions, the inspection will be taken by the district officers. After stressing the necessity for the cadets to attend. Mr Ayson formed the boys .into squads. Stretcher drill followed, the ambulance officer being assisted |by the n.c.o.’s. Public duties were arranged and the parade was dismissed for games. . Qualifications of ia first-aid worker. —No. 1 Observation: It is very important that the firsbaid worker shall be oliservant for it is only by his observations that an injury can be diagnosed and properly treated. The firstaid worker must study the human body in its natural state, so that any abnormal signs such .as swelling or disfigurement shall he immediately apparent. He must observe the conditions which caused the accident, and take precautions to reduce further danger. ! I i
