SCATTERED RAIN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. An anti-cyclone is located to the north-east and pressure is rising in the south behind a trough now approaching Cook Strait. A change to moderate southerlies is now advancing from the south, but winds are becoming westerly again to-morrow. The weather will be mainly fair tocloudy, but there will be some scattered rain this afternoon or to-night. Temperatures becoming cooler, seas moderate. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.— 3ft. '
