AMERICAN BOND ISSUE.

WASHINGTON, Sopt. 24.

The Secretary to the Treasury (Mr Morgenthau) announces a Treasury offer of the cheapest bond issue in the nation’s history to the holders of 737,000,000 dollars of Is per cent, treasury notes, maturing December 15, namely bonds bearing 2 per cent, interest, ■which svill mature in 12J to 14| years. He said 2 per cent, bonds had boon issued previously, but never for such a long maturity.
