IMPORT PROCEDURE.
CRITICISM VOICED
Per Press Association
DUNEDIN, Sept. 25. Importers have not yet mastered the voluminous import schedules, and in the city criticism is centred on two main points —first, holding importers strictly to December for the third and fourth period licenses when shipping facilities were so uncertain; and, second, the refusal to grant a license to cover a group of items, since this arrangement could not affect sterling funds. One critic said the Government by continuing the piecemeal method might save some pounds on individual licenses where importers could not fu ! Jv use them, but this was an attitude neither fair nor equitable.
