Rev. L. O. Beere, an Auglican missionary- Avho has spent 11 years in Korea, is taking his leave in W’ellington instead of England, and is visiting his cousin, Mr R. St. J. Beere. Mr L. A. Tracy, of Wellington, has been appointed to the NeAv Zealand Boxing Council as treasurer, filling the A-aeancy caused hv the death of Mr E. A. DaAA'son.— Press Association. Messrs'T. Mark, Public Service Commissioner, and F.- W. Millar; general secretary of the Public Service Association, are visiting Palmerston North. Mr Mark is engaged in hearing any representations Avhich members of the Public Service Avish to make to him.

Advice has been received by Mr A. E. Higgens. of Rov Street, Palmerston North, of the death of his three brothers, Alfred. AVilliam and Frederick, all members of the British Expeditionary Force. All three served Avith the BritishTExpeditionarv Force in the last Avar, while Mr A. E. Higgins Avas a member of the N.Z.E.F. Colonel A. Z. Williams, attached to Army Headquarters, and Major Mus-croft-Taylor, District Artillery Officer, visited Palmerston North yesterday and inspected_ F. Troop of the 4th Field Battery in the course of its training at the Artillery Barracks. The later proceeded to Napier, Avliere they are to inspect D. and E. Troops of the battery. -
