BUNNYTHORPE.

BUNNYTIIORPE, Sept. 23. A complimentary eocial was tendered to Mr W. Sutherland, who is to Lie married at an early date. The function took place in the public hall, and was arranged by the staff of the glaxo factory' and the Tennis Club. Mr A. 11. Faulkner, manager of the factory, spoke of the sterling qualities of Mr Sutherland, who has been employed there for some years. On behalf of the staff and his fellow employees, Mr Faulkner, asked .him to accept a handsome dinner set as an expression of their best wishes. Mr 11. Robson (president of the Tennis Club)’ spoke of the keen interest Mr Sutherland took in the club and in all sport in Bunnythorpe. He presonted Mr Sutherland with a firescreen, wishing him every success. At the last euchre tournament prizes were won by Miss Armstrong and Mr S. Cheetham. Aircraftsman F. McCafforty is home on leave. The monthly meeting of the Young Farmers’ Club was presided over by Mr G. Wiggins It was decided to" keep in touch with all local members serving in the forces. Short spoeches were given by members on subjects of their own choice.
