CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Feilding Cricket Association’s management committee was held last evening, Mr J. G. Eliott presiding. It was decided to recommend to the annual meeting that the competition this season he confined to one-day matches, and that the Air Force at Ohakea he invited to enter a team. The prospects for the coming season were discussed, and it was stated that it could not be ascei-tain-ed whether there would be sufficient players available to make provision for both senior and junior competitions. Most of the clubs would be able to field a senior team, it was gathered, but the position regarding tho juniors was somewhat obscure. Many of tho younger players would be in camp, and their departure for three months would leave a serious deficiency. It was stated that tho dwelling in the corner of the cricket grounds at Centennial Kowliai Park is now empty, and it is understood that arrangements are being made with tho Borough Council for its demolition to bo carried out.
