RACING AT MARTON. GAELIC SONG’S SUCCESS. The - Marton Jockey Club’6 meeting, on Saturday, provided keen racing, with several close finishes, outsiders securing first money in every event. The Marton Handicap was- won by Gaelic Song and the sprint went to Saxon Tor. The juvenile race was won by Foreign Coin. W. J. Mudford rodo two winners, including the principal raco and one of the substantial dividends. Under the win and place system the betting figures were £21,190, an increase of £5426 10s on the last spring meeting. RACING IN DETAIL. MAIDEN RACE, of £IOO. Weight, 8.7. King’s Mark, Vacation, Sweet Anne and Colenca were always prominent and a furlong off the post Sweet Anne had taken charge and was holding off King’s Mark. Colerica finished stoutly on the outer, to head off Sweet Anne and win going away. Foxiana scored an all-the-way win. Golden Memory went witli him, but tho winner, jpinping well, always held tho upper hand, and Golden Memory finally weakened to a moderate third, F’oxiana being pushed home by High Peer who was, however, unable to reach him. (Winner trained by owner, Wanganui.) All Bunsby, ninth oach way favourite, scored a narrow win and tile favourite, Scandal was only fourth. All Bunsby was ono of the loaders throughout and tought on well at the end against a strong challenge from Lucullus Boy. He was lucky, however, to beat Lucullus Boy. The latter was drawn wide and had to run over extra ground. Waimutu, always well up in the running, was a very close third. RAILWAY HANDICAP, of £l5O. Six furlongs. 6-4 SAXON TOR, Mr G. He had his stablomate, F’oollooae, on his outer to the straight, and was tiius able to keep fairly clo=e to tho fence, and when he run on well in the straight nothing looked like getting to him. -a no topweight, Amigo, ' put in an appearance in third place as they ran round the turn, and he came on into a clear-cut second without troubling the winner. There was a great finish for the third money, Nigger Boy, on the outer, just getting up Irom Screen Star and 'ihe Buzzer who were almost in line with him. MARTON HANDICAP, of £2OO. They made the pace from Winsome Lu, and the trio were never seriously challenged. Gaelics Song drew ahead front tho five furlongs, but Noble Fox was always bandy, and joining issue in tho straight they fought out a strenuous duel, Gaelic Song always having a slight advantage. Noble Fox pulled very hard early under tho moderate pace. Winsome Lu never lost her third position, but she was unable to make any impression on the pair in front. and meritorious effort. Not only did he carry 101 b over his handicap weight, but he was left in -front five furlongs from home, after being one of the leading runners up to that stage. The favourite, Hasten, looked as if tie might .win when he came at Auto Sweep in the straight, but the latter hung on just too well. An outsider in Gold Bridge came with a strong run at the end.

Swinerd, Greenmeadows.) -Lucullus Boy drew the fence but did not jump into the lead, Zest and Wings of Song careering away in front well clear. Kentucky, who had drawn wide at the post, made up ground last on the turn, and was with Royal Consort and Lucullus Boy as they followed the two leaders round. Kentucky ran on to be the first to challenge Zest after Wings of Song dropped out, and he looked the winner till Lucullus Boy went away and won very decisively. Kentucky beat Zest just as easily. T
