COMPULSORY LOAN

PROBABLE PROCEDURE

Per Press Association,

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 21

Particulars of the compulsory war loan, warning of which was given last June, will be announced next week, said Hon. W. Nash to-dav. The loan is authorised under the Finance Emergency Regulations No. 2, which give the Minister power to call a compulsory loan, with right of appeal, to be used to obtain contributions for war purposes.

Although the Minister did not indicate this morning the nature of the loan, it is believed it'will follow on the lines of the similar levy introduced during the last year in Which contributions were based on income tax payments.
