MARTON, Sept. '2O. Marton’s allocation for the relief of distress in London is £2OO, and. the sum of £175 has already been subscribed. A social gathering was hold in the Marton Parish Hall in a.id of the South Makirikiri, Grcatford and Croftnn patriotic shop. Mrs Duncan Simpson, who has just returned to Marton from England, gave an address on impressions gained thrre. Items were given by Miss Edith Scott, Mice Mary Bush, Mr N. Shelton, and the Misses A. and N. McQueen. Mrs Shelton was _ the accompanist. The sum of £8 was realised. Mr C. L. Harris presided.
