WOMEN’S WAR SERVICE.
Attention is drawn to an advertisement in this issue regarding a meeting of delegates from ' organisations of women which is to be held in the supper room of the Opera House, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, September 24. at 8 p.m., for the purpose of electing a district committee of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary.. All organisations of women are urged to send delegates to this meeting, as it is particularly desired that tho.-basis of representation on the committee should be as broad as possible. Only accredited delegates may attend the meeting, and organisations should get in touch- with the convener (Miss M. S. Grant,, care Manawatu Times Office, Palmerston North) before 4 p.m. on 'Monday,' September 23. Each organisation of less' than 50 members may appoint one delegate, and each organisation of more than 50 members may appoint two delegates. In addition, each organisation may nominate one candidate for election to the district committee. Nominations .of candidates for election to the committee must be. signed by a delegate and must also have endorsed thereon the consent of the candidate. The number required to be elected is nine, and if more than this number are liomirviird an election will.be held at the nice ting.
