COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL GROUNDS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —For the information of “Parent” and householders in the College Street school area, the advice that the grant was available for the purchase of additional land at College Street was'received last Wednesday. As the' transfer of the land and other legal formalities have yet to be completed, it will no doubt be some time before the ground is available for use. This additional playing area will eliminate any overcrowding and will be a great asset to the school. Parents can rest assured that every care is taken by the headmaster and his staff to eliminate accidents to the children, and that no serious accidents have occurred. I thank “Parent” for his offer and shall be pleased to have his assistance if it found necessary to set up a “working bee.” The now grounds will bo made available as early as possible. —I am, etc., H. G. MILLS, Chairman. School Committee. Palmerston North, Sept. 20, 1940.
