The men’s Stableford bogey golf competition played recently resulted .Seniors : N. Ashworth, 37 points; juniors, G. Judd, 36 points. Handicap reductions are: R. J. Managh. 17 from 18; N. Ashworth, 21 from 23. The draw for the championships is: Senior, G. Bevan and I. G. Owen, H. Ferguson and N. ■ Anderson, I. Old and L. Anderson, R. J. Managh and J. O’Sullivan. Intermediate: K. Fergusson and R. \V. Taylor, L. Fergusson and L. Miller, N. Ashworth and G. Nieol, B. Bevan and E. \V. Cowdrey. Junior: C. Fergusson and S. Jones, L. Siegel and R. D. Elgar. Senior and junior championship matches only will be played this week-end. A bogey competition will bo played at the week-end and the draw is: L. Siegel, R. D. Elgar and N. Ashworth, C. Forgusson, S. Mrs R. Williams presided over the September meeting of the Women’s Institute. Mrs I. Owen was welcomed back. The duties of sunshine members for next month were undertaken by Mesdames I. Brett and A. Managh. Hostesses for the October meeting will bo Mesdames I. E. Fergusson and L. Fergusson and Miss Edna Fergusson. An invitation to the Stanway Institute birthday in October was received. An appeal for Christmas gifts for lepers was received and members were asked to bring their contributions to the next meeting. Mrs A. Ward and Mrs A. McNae were appointed delegates to attend the council meeting to be held in Fcilding. Arrangements were made for the packing and sending away of four Christmas parcels for soldiers. Hostesses were Mesdames B. Bradley. N. Anderson and A. Ward. The competitions resulted:—Jar of marmalade. Mrs M. James 1. Mrs Brett 2. Miss Esma Field 3; bloom, Miss Elsie Forgusson 1, Miss 0. Mr M. Fox. of Oliura, has joined the local railway start. Mrs E. W. Cowdrey is visiting Wanganui. Mrs B. Asbwcll, who lias been the guest of Mr and Mrs R. J. Managh', U'.s left for Mataroa, whore she will in future reside. Friends of Mrs G. Hutton will regret to learn that she has been obliged to enter hospital. Mr J. P. Hill is spending bis annual leave with his parents at Kohuratahi. Mrs J. McBride, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs I. G. Owen, has returned to Napier.
