EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD." SEPTEMBER 20, 1210. Hugh J. Ward’s company of comedian# presented “Tho Girl From Rector’s” at the Palmerston North Opera House, The Dairy Union’s new cheese factory at Ashhurst, which had only been installed tho previous year, had a most successful season. There were 34 suppliers. It was stated that the Dominion should have a fleet of'26 aeroplanes and aerial machines completed, or in course of construction, “if all the ideas germinating in the minds of inventors had come to fruition.” The contractors for tho Palmerston North High School were making rapid headway with their work. Tho death had occurred of Dr Maclagan, a former Archbishop of York. At a demonstration in the vicinity of cried burg (Germany), where tho Czar was staying, German Socialists denounced him as a tyrant. Extremists in Constantinople were exerting pressure on France to grant a loan to lurkey, failing which they threatened a rapprochement with Germany. The Silverleys cheese' factory, on Newbury Line, then owned by tho Dairy Union, had resumed cheese making under the control of Mr Geo. Rickard Australian Attorney-General (Mr W. M. Hughes) stated that finality had been reached on the capital sito question.
