ASHHURST SALE.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a small yarding of sheep With a capacity yarding of dairy cows and hoilers, along with an average yarding of fat cows, ex the dairy, at their sale at Ashhurst: —Fat sheep of all classes sold particularly wcil at rates fully firm on those ruling at other recent fixtures. A medium yarding of beef of just fair quality sold under keen competition at values showing an increase on those ruling at recent sales. A large yarding of dairy cows and heifers were keenly competed for at values well up on those ruling at other sales during the week, and we report an excellent clearance of the whole of the yarding under the hammer. A small yarding of weaner Jersey heifers also met with a particularly keen sale, selling as high as up to £6 15s to £6 19s. Quotations Fat owes, 30s, 31s, 52s 6d, 33s 3d; lat hoggets, 245, 255, 2os 3d ; fat cows ex the dairy, £5 10s, £6, £6 10s. £7 to £8 15s; 2 extra prime P.A. cows on account of Mr J. P. Robortson, of Aokautere, sold at the good figure of £l2 12s 6d. Dairy cattle: Young cows close to profit, £9, £lO, £ll. £ll 10s, £l2 to £l3; nice quality Jersey heifers close to profit, £B, £8 10s, £9. £9 10s, £9 15s, £9 17s 6d, £lO 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, £5, £5 10s, £5 19s; other cows, £3, £3 10s, £3 15s, £4.
