HOROWHENUA.

(Frdm Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Sept. 18. Tho death occurred in tho Wellington Hospital on Monday, at the age of 62 years, of Mrs Frances Millicent O’Connor. The third daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Whitehousc, she was born at Porirua, and was married at Johnsonville to the late Mr John O’Connor. The late Mrs O’Connor spent twenty years at Manakau. The headquarters of the registrar of electors for the Otaki electorate lias been transferred from Otaki to Levin, and Mr Henderson will succeed Mr Benge as registrar. A young man, Thomas Gordon, was apprehended by the police and yesterday morning appeared befere Mr H. Nicolson, J.P., charged with breaking and entering with the intention of committing a crime. The police asked for a remand which.was granted. Bail was fixed at £IOO.
